Day 7 of Walking

We are unable to post photos tonight, but there wasn´t too much to see today because of the rain. We are in Nareja this evening and have just returned from mass a few minutes ago. We met a seminarian there from Strasbourg, France who wants to pray the rosary with us tomorrow morning. We just checked the weather, and sunshine seems to be scarce in the future. It rained lightly today but is supposed to become heavy rain tomorrow and continue for the next few days. We are prepared for this and will make the best of it. We appreciate the emails and posts from all of you. We pray for you and ask that you keep us in your prayers as well.

It's "funner" in the sun, but God is in the rain, too: that's how we get G-rain to eat and to feed the animals. (Hey, my kids used to buy it!) I think a proper gesture on Sunday would be for the men to carry the women's packs. Just a suggestion:-) It would be a way to honor Mary, our Mother. (I'm trying to help you out ladies...go with me on this.) Our prayers continue...

Guys, I see Connie is trying to cause dissension. Remind the gals that you are taking them on an indepth tour of Spain, daily spas, frequent mud packs, tanning most days, no junk food, free wine, a real healthy vacation. You guys are just too good & thoughtful. As Red Green says,"we're in this together".

No. No dissension, Dick. After all, if they are still walking in daily mud-pack spas when Father's Day rolls around in June, the gals could allow the guys to again carry their packs so they could honor St. Joseph (the Worker, not the Loafer). See, women always think of ways to help their husbands get to heaven; and these are just such thoughtful women. (By the way, if you're still walking on Father's Day, I hope you find the rock that spews Margueritas.) Prayerful blessings. Connie H.

Happy Mother's Day Joann, I'm sure the day hasn't been forgotten by your children. We spent the weekend in Cedar Rapids with the Burns, babysitting with Brett and Kate, can't get any better than that. Homefront looks good, the lawn is manucured, as we had another 2 inches last night. Think and pray for you every day and sounds like a beautiful journey are are experierencing with God, how special. Enjoying the pictures and feel like we are an email away. Stopped at Mom's and she is so excited for you two, wish she could read your email. Our blessing. Love you both

Hi Co & Bill: I think I have figured out why you are having a rough time. You are wearing all the wrong clothes. I have done some serious research on "pilgrims" and according to Wikipedia you should have buckles on your hat as well as your shoes, and be wearing lots more black. Apparently you should also be planting corn and killing wild turkeys. Why don't you try that and see if it helps? Your helpful friend, AMY

Pilgrims: Take heart, the Lord is with YOU! Photos are invaluable for visual learners like myself. Despite the irritations: mud, shale, rain and more rain, "no room at the inn/s" you are making great progress toward an incredible goal.

May St. James himself speed you to Santiago. Dave Salvaterra

Wow, what a trip so far. Have been watching and praying. Wouldn't have minded a sip from the wine wall myself. Ruth, Wes is having lots of fun with us and his teachers, keeps running away. Took off on his bike wanting to ride his bike to school last week, it's 7 miles. Then wanted to walk home from school, and took off, some kids saw him and new he wasn't suppose to be at the corner light, so the girls proceeded to keep him busy while the guy went in to get someone. Everyone knows Wesley. He is really trying to push his independence. Pray for that please. Trish decided she is moving here finally. ttfn keep up the trek. Love Rita
